I have seen a lot of dirt ingested engines. The problem in the head area is not that the dirt wore out the valves, or seats, it is the dirt that is in there and has to be cleaned out. A D-361 or 407 are the hardest to clean that intake manifold build inside the head but it is a must. Needs to be taken apart,cleaned and inspected.
