As I remember way back when. There was picking or ther ws snapping corn. In picking corn you used a husking hook or picking peg. The object was to get the ear of corn in the ceib with no shucks on it. At first several of the manufactures made corn picker and corn snappers basicly the picker was a snapper with a husking bed(series of rolls)for grasping the husks off of ear as the ear moved over the rolls. In my younger years shucking corn meant harvesting the ear of corn with or without the husks.
