if you want to refill cartridges,Its best to get a printer that has separate color cartridges. Its too easy to overfill the combined cartridge type and ruin it with mixed colors. a HP 8500 is easy to refill and uses less ink than most other model and brands. The Gas Station refill kits work the best and syringes work ok. Its too hard to control the squeeze bulb types. I often find the bulk ink kits at Goodwill for a few dollars.
