I think what we are seeing is interest rates are in the toilet, business isn't to far behind. Money is flowing from intangibles and business (stock market) into commodities and other tangible assets like land. The fact that corn and beans made real advancements in the markets in the last few years has fueled speculation in land, much like it did during WW I. This is also shown in Gold and precious metal markets and to some extent in oil, but volatility in oil and economic concerns about the economy and thus oil demand has scared some speculators away from it.
