I wear my boots to town once in a while. I usually get them pretty clean first though. You can tell their barn boots, but there"s no crap falling off. Like you found, it depends where you are. A former boss came from Belguim, and said if you walked into a grocery store with crappy boots/ smelly clothes, they"d kick you out. His wife said you had to dress up to get the mail. Quite a culture shock when they first came over(to Canada) and sat down to eat, and some guys come in all smelly and with crappy boots.
