I hope you got one with its own heater built in. My wife bought me one once without a heater, and you were supposed to cook jerky, etc., before you put it in the dehydrator. That was baloney.
I bought one that looked similar with a heater in it and hid the one she gave me. She never figured it out.
All I've used mine for is jerky. It heats to 160 degrees and takes about 7 hours for a batch of jerky.
That's the sum total of my knowledge of dehydrators.
