When we bought our present place 42 years ago there was elm,willow and fruitless mulberry in the yard. We closed in December and rented the place back to the seller until April 1st to allow him to finish his new house and move his operation. My mom and I planted fruit trees, pecan,magnolia,walnut,sycamore,white oak,and live oak that December and January because I knew all the existing trees would decline and die. A couple of Bur Oak my grandson helped plant from acorns 23 years ago now gives great satisfaction to me and him.
