The "buy American" clause of the stimulus package is a great steaming pile. It requires affidavits to attest to the location of origin, Davis-Bacon payroll rules to ensure unions get work and in the end the taxpayer takes it in the shorts. There is all sorts of other BS paperwork that even the government doesn't understand but makes up the rules as they go along. We have jobs that were completed a year ago and the paperwork audits continue to this day.
