I left dialup for a local company figuring that I would keep the money at home. About 4 years of that and I had had enough.
Last spring I hooked up with Hughes and bought their fastest service. It wasn't all that fast.
Well, somewhere in the overall scheme of things had this local boy who is a computer whiz kid and he happened to mention to me that my router was an antique. I need a router as I have several computers with one down link modem from the satellite; some are wired and some are wireless.
Spent all of about $75 for a new Cisco (brand) router and life hasn't been the same. Service is non-interrupted, available 24/7 as long as it isn't raining so hard that the signal can't get through, and speed is superb.
Might have a look at you router if you have one before you blame Hughes.
