I think that the reason that there is a 50% divorce rate is due to many reasons, like: Women now work, decades ago most woman did not work. A woman needed the husband to work and support the family. Self esteem is also a factor but I was told that before WW2 most couples stayed together because there were not that many lawyers to push for divorces. Judges frowned on it I am told. Also the whole world is set on, having all women look like models, my wife is not model material but many men go out and get the younger woman and "trade up" and get divorced. It is a lot easier to get divorced now then 60 years ago.
