Trade down to a older 7.3. I have a 1996 250 4x4 with the 7.3. It has right at 350,000 miles and except for normal maintenance has never been touched. It may blow up tomorrow, but, it always starts good, hot or cold, runs and pulls good, and uses very little oil and gets decent fuel milage for a truck of that size.
