If a stock head gasket want hold,either your head or block isn't trew or your compression is higher than it needs to be.I have ran an A and G at 12.5 to 1 with no gasket problem.but they will not lug down when they are that high.the A was 245 lbs.A 730 deisel is 17 to 1 and uses no special gasket
