I do try to avoid OT subjects but not much help anywhere else. Daughters 1991 New yorker 5th Ave has the digital gage cluster, original went dead and I replaced it with a junker which lasted 3 years. Junkers with that dash are getting hard to find as a lot were crushed the last couple years. I think the capacitors on one of the boards is bad (small burn mark on solder side and a bit of ooze from the capacitor).
Has anyone tried to fix one of these and what tricks are there to un-solder and re-solder components on a circuit board?
Are there any good re-builders for these out there?
