You got that right. We had to clean the barn with a fork and shovel every day. The cows stayed in all winter, and the inspector would have a fit if the barn wasn't clean. He even gave us he!! one time for using lime on the floor when the co-op ran out of 'barn snow'. The heat houser sure made a big difference in January and February. The tractor had time to warm up while we were loading the spreader, so even a trip to a far away field wasn't so unpleasant. Even after the advent of cabs, the heat houser was used because the cab tractors were too high to get into the barn. Manure didn't get pulled by a cab tractor until they invented a barn cleaner. I still have one I bought in 1970 for my 2520, but haven't had it on for years.
