farmer boy, B-I-L has a 88,F-450 AKA Super duty with No # designation. 7.3 DSL, 5 speed, and 5:17 rear gears! It had a 12 ft flat bed on it. I could legally carry more wt that his 20 ft Gooseneck stock trailer. Great truck, not a speed burner with the 5:17 gears, but tough a nails. The reliability of the 7.3 is legendary enough said. But just in case,,, make sure the H20 Separator is not leaking a replacement is Ford Only either @ Ford or Motorcraft! Motorcraft is the cheaper way out....$800 Cost! Hope this helps. Later, John A.
