Just before christmas, I bought a 90 F350 superduty, to pull my equipment- hay trailer. It has the 7.3 diesel, and 5 spd manual transmission. It crashed gears, going into reverse, and somewhat on the shift from 2nd to 3rd. I was told that it was clutch adjustment. After a new clutch package, including flywheel, the problem was still there, and found out that the syncros, in the 5spd were out. Tranny is a german made ZF that is very intemidating, for me to tear into! Have been told that they were a weak link. When I get rich, selling my calves I might have it fixed! Ive got twice it's worth in it now.
