Must have went to a bad dealership, round here they make sure the stuff on the lot is ready to go before parking it out there. You may want to ask them before you "hear it run" if they will rent it out for a day so you can use it on a job site and knock off the rental price if you buy it. If they know something is wrong they are not going to go for it.
