Did anyone else see on TV the other night where a Chinese high school student in California discovered what could lead to a cure for cancer?
I didn't quite understand it, but she found a way for some intermediate (?) cells to attach themselves to the cancer cells, then when the intermediate cells were destroyed the cancer cells were destroyed with them with no other damage.
It's worked on lab mice, but it could be a few years of more testing to see if it becomes a reality for humans. If it ultimately works, it will be a helluva a breakthrough, and by a high school student.
Guess her interest in biology has taken her years ahead of her formal studies. But, some of the toughest problems are solved by someone starting "tabula rasa", (with a clean slate), whose mind is not cluttered up by established conceptions.
