If using for a purpose, then the question is really, "qualifying the tractor for the work you do", of course with a little extra, power, options etc., to be efficient and comfortable while doing the work.
For what I do, a nice industrial like a ford 545-D,C FWA, Fel, Forks, (maybe loader adapted to quick tach) wheel weights 3 pt, pto would do fine, cab, or weather cab would be nice. Of course the modern equivalents would also be nice, though there is something to the feel of the older style like the industrial type I mentioned. I really like the size and nice to have 60 HP packed in there too. Fuel economy with modern ones can't be overlooked, but I don't run a lot of hours so one of these would still be cost effective. If I had to run a splitter or pto generator or just had tons of field work, would be different.
Play does not come to mind, would be fun to have one you have restored from complete disassembly, take to a show on occasion, but it could be any model, make for that matter.
