DoubleR, The same is true with dewalts. I've been using dewalts for about 15 years. Their new batteries will work in my old tools. However, you need a new charger, which is better than any old Ni-cd charger, to charge Li-ion and Ni-MH batteries. Charger on ebay was around $30. My last Ni-MH battery was $45. George
