The Out-runner has the Magnets on the outside of the coils and is said to have better torque.. These 2 types have been used in Model Aircraft for more than a few years.. The motors can be would for extreme RPM (240,000+), down to just a few 100 RPM.. The controllers are radio controlled for any RPM from 0 to Maximum for the motor being used.. They can be over 90% efficient.. The power from these is actually Higher (pound for Pound) than Gas or Glow Fuel.. Lithium Ion Batteries are the norm, for more power Density...(Lighter)..
