A Boss story.
Several years ago I was adding a new molding machine. I was running conduit overhead myself as time allowed. I have a cage that is lifted with the fork truck to work from which I would have someone lift and lower me. I was called to the office to find an OSHA inspector that wanted to do a plant inspection. Because I was hanging conduit above an isle that both raw materials and finished product needed to be moved, every time I had to go to the office I took the cage back to the warehouse out of the way. When I came out with the OSHA inspector I found a dock worker who I had never ask to help me run conduit standing on a flat pallet up in the air with a rickety step ladder in front of the pallet. I told the fellow to get down from there and go back to loading a truck.
That little helpful deed by an employee cost me two grand in fines and lawyer costs. The fellow was fired without cause according to the summons. The fine would have been higher if I had not fired this employee.
Cheeating BOSS sets in the office while we make him rich. Didjaever hear that?
