So you're saying it was an 881, and not an 801? '801' is just a series. An 881 is an 801 with the Select-O-Speed transmission with 540/1000/ground speed PTO. An 871 would be an 801 with the SOS and 540 (only) PTO. An 861 is an 801 with the 5-speed and live PTO... etc. Middle number designated which transmission the tractor has.
