"untill they crack down on the scrapyards for accepting stolen merchandise the theives will continue to steal,...i know i"ll catch flack about more laws in the wrong place, but lets face it, if you are buying new converters for scrap, and a load of manhole covers, shouldn"t a light go off ????"
That"s just ridiculous. Manhole covers, yeah it might trip a light. Converters? How about all the fairly new cars that are totaled each year and the converters pulled for scrap?

It"s old combines, corn pickers, haybines, balers, and the like from fencerows that create the problem. Like many small operators my equipment looks like it ought to be on it"s way to the yard but it works well and is well maintained.
Lets not drop the hammer on the scrap yards because they"re doing business, how about we hammer the ^%$#&^% thieves that steal and sell.
