Check the owner's manual on undercoating.
Don't know about Ford, but GM's owner's manuals used to state (probably still do) that the factory rust-through warranty was voided if the vehicle was undercoated.
In fact, at a GM dealer I once worked for, a little old lady bought a new car and the overly ambitious salesman (not me) sold her on having it undercoated. The lady took delivery of the car, went home and read her owner's manual, came back and pointed out that specific line to the salesman.
Since there's no way to remove undercoating, the dealership had to give her another identical new car. They dumped the other one on somebody less astute that assumed it came from the factory that way.
