When in Germany, in Army avation in 1966, I wired up a push button switch to the brake lights to keep the tailgaters back. Once a Mercedes taxi was riding my rear bumper, so I pushed the button, and observed, through the rear view mirror, that the passenger flopped over the seat and almost landed in the drivers lap, as he, the driver, abruptly braked! The taxi stayed well back after that. Probably curseing "Crazy Americans"
