Depends on the A. Unstyled A will pull a 2 bottom nicely, but not 3. Early styled will handle a 3 bottom in good conditions, but in tough going 2 bottom will be about right. Late styled gas A will handle a 3 bottom about anywhere. Belt HP of A's went from 23 in 1934 to 39 in 1947 on gas, big difference. All my comments apply to stock tractors. Lots of ways to get an A to make a LOT of horsepower.
