I've been cutting hay in northern Maryland, letting it lay for a few days, rolling it up and feeding it within about a week. Cows seem to like it as good as silage, and it's saving some hay, which is in very short supply around here. I've been doing 6 or 8 acres at a time, usually about 10-15 bales. They're green and heavy, but doesn't seem to heat too much in the cold air, and doesn't seem to be getting moldy. Just an idea to stretch some feed before the snows hit.
