It sounds like you're being paranoid rather than wanting to sell the engine. Ya, there's scammers out there but there's also a far lot more legit buyers. Wanting the e-mail receipt might just be so he knows you received it. If you call him confirms it but if you don't respond, he will either think you didn't get it or you're not interested in selling it to him. I know other people and have had it happen myself where my e-mail automatically goes into a junk folder because the security doesn't like the name being used or some other dumb reason. When I call the person, they look in the junk folder and find it. It's better to respond to the e-mail request rather than have him keep sending you e-mails thinking you didn't receive it or just decide you're not interested in selling it that much.
