1. go to a Deere dealer that sells this model and ask what a brand new one costs....If a new one is say $45k then bid less for the one you are looking at.
2. Go on ebay and see what a used 5525 is going for. It just seems high to me. (I bought a new compact deere diesel 4 years ago)
3. A buddy of mine bought a 5 year old 4000 series tractor with front bucket and back hoe for $23k. The 4000 series he has is the 2.2 liter engine I think, or 2.0. He gets $50 per hour with this machine for digging, scooping, grading, whatever.
I hope this helps. Is the 5525 you are looking at from a dealer or private sale? I would be leary of a dealer selling this used.
