I had been having a lot of trouble with heartburn. I used all the different pills and got to where I needed them daily.
The problem is that when you use stuff that reduces acid, your body compensates by making more of it, so you can essentially get dependent on the stuff.
What I did was get some fast acting liquid stuff. I only used it if the burn was bad and I'd just take a quick swig from the bottle. After limiting my use of the acid reducing stuff for a few weeks I barely needed it anymore.
Also, avoid alcohol or at least limit how often you consume it. That aggravates heartburn like nobody's business.
