The mag was never used on the 9N as the mag came out on the tractor as a war item and the 2N was the war tractor, started in 1942, and came at the start with no generator, battery or starter. The serial number for the 2N starts with the 9 same as the 9N. The mag was used befor that on industrial engines and could have been changed over if they had distributor problems or could not get a battery during 1942 or 1943. Otherwise I think you are looking at a 2N and thinking it is a 9N.
