Yeah that Allis Chalmers B for $4000 is extremely out there. I see some selling in used running condition for $1500, but that is a world from the $4000. Some people ask high prices on Craigslist at times for %2500, yet, we generally see them advertised a few wekks to months later for more reasonable prices. I understand the practice of asking a high starting price, knowing that you will be coming down, but, if it's not even close, the tractor is going to be on the market a long time.
I bought a B a few years back for around $700, but it had a stuck engine and a flat worn rear tire on a split rim. Sure the stuck engine on a B is a quick fix, 30 minutes of rocking the crank back and forth till it frees. If you squirt anything but diesel into the cylinder to aid in freeing, make sure you squirt diesel into the cylinder when you free it up to prevent it from sticking on you again. Either way, while an Allis B is a great tractor, and worth every penny of the reasonable price of $1200 - $1500, if it is in running and usable condition, it is not a gold mine.
