Ok, I should know this, but I'm having a "senior" moment. I bought a used starter for my WD as a back-up in questionable condition. I want to clean it up and re-brush it before I put it on. My question is, when I check the commutator bars against one another, they all show continuity (basically 0 ohms) between the bars. There is infinate resistance between the armature shaft and any commutator bars. I know the second reading is good, but are the bars all "shorted" together normally? I don't see how it could work this way ....?
