I agree with your positive attitude, but today is not the best day to start.
It is much better to start when times are hard, prices are low. One learns much more disipline and how-to when corn is $2 a bushel, and good used equipment & seed & fert are a little cheaper. When things improve, one has a base and experience and can take advatage of the better times.
Right now, $5 and higher corn makes some things look easy, and much harder to keep a level head or know what to do when it swings the other way.
