I could see $3800 if it was perfect, diesel, and was a 660 or 661 instead of a 640.
I often see 640s or 641s for $1500-$2000 without loaders. Too fast in 1st and reverse for many types of work. Non-live PTO isn't very handy either. A Case VAC for $700 can do pretty much the same work as a 640 and often sells much cheaper.
If you're in the northern Michigan area, I've got a pretty nice 1963 Ford 641 with loader I'm going to get rid of. I bought it "over the phone" a few years ago as a 661. If I'd known it was actually a 641, I'd never had paid for it.
