This spring/summer all of our local TSC's put all of their pitman sticks except a Ford part number, a JD part number, and the universal one on clearance. At 99 cents each they couldn't get rid of them. Some had the old pricing stickers from the 1990's on them underneath the clearance stickers. Some had 3 or 4 price increase stickers underneath the clearance stickers. I guess when they couldn't sell one for $6.99, they thought $14.49 would make it fly off the shelf.
All items that were on clearance are still listed in the blue book as being available, though.
They were clearing out some uncommon double-pronged guards, too.
In all of these cases, it wouldn't suprise me if they were dumping old stock, or clearing them out for good. Either way, they weren't selling at their listed price.
If you can use the guards, buy them up. $11+ is overpriced, but $0.50 is a bargain.
