I use a remote host to upload photos too. Places like "photobucket" are free. Then copy and paste the HTML links into your messages.
Different forums work with different "image codes." This one works with HTML. Others use IMG code. A place like www.photobucket.com will store your photos and give you the codes you need to post.
Some forums allow direct posting of photos into messages - but not this one as far as I know. Maybe the other "modern" forum is different.
Make of camera and computer doesn't matter. Just make sure your photos are in .jpg format when you post and anybody will be able to view them. What you ought to have is a good photo-editing program so you can size down the photos yourself before posting. You don't want them much bigger then 100 KB each. Fresh from your digtal camera they will often be 1,000 KB each (way too big). Shrinking it from 1000 to 100 won't change the visual quality if you do it correctly. GIMP is a good free one but it not exactly for beginners.
