I've got a pair of '04 Dodge 2500 QC, 4WD, long bed, automatic 2500's. One HO diesel, other 5.7L Hemi. Hemi is cheaper to buy, cheaper to operate, quieter, better natured in cold weather, and will tow same trailers with same load right on down the highway @ speed limit. Diesel has SLIGHT advantage on hills when loaded heavy, but not so much as to justify the added cost. Both have roughly 180,000 miles. Gasser is lighter on front end, so tires wear a little better.
I'm trading them in on new trucks in the next 6 months. BOTH will be gassers on the next go-round.
