Getting a well drilled is an extremely blind purchase. We have a driller in the area who has a very bad rep and even a class action suit against him, but he keeps getting jobs, probably by giving good per foot pricing. There are many with good reps and one who is particularly well thought of. I had known of the good one for years before I needed one, so fifteen years ago when I needed a new well that's who I called. We got about 2GPM at about 375 feet, and they said we ought to go another length because they thought it would get a lot better. we did and got about 30 GPM. My suggestion is price per foot should not be what you choose a well driller by.
