Who knows what will, and what will not be collectable some day? Henry is one of the few companies that still makes a "boys" rifle. In fact, maybe they're the only one. I still cannot believe that those crappy Volkswagen air-cooled bugs are collectible now. I was a Volks mechanic when they were poplular, so I think I'm qualified to have a negative opinion.
I've got several new Henrys and I was blown away by their great customer service. Just about every time I've called, the phone rings maybe twice - and a person in THIS country that actually speaks English gets on the phone. Great customer service and built in the United States. That's more then I can say for Chevrolet - now partially foreign owned, and Chrysler that is all Italian owned.
Someday maybe anything of any use that is actually made here in the USA will be a collector's item.
But the guns? I've got several of their new lever actions. Great little guns but none have the hand-fitted craftmanship that Americans guns had before 1964. I also have a new Mossberg ATR bolt-action 30-06, a new Savage bolt-action 30-06, and several new Ruger Mini-14s. All great guns but none have tight fitting wood or hand-engraving like so many older guns had. All are great shooters though.
I hate to say it buy my new plastic stock Mossberg ATR 30-06 is more accurate then my 1952 Winchester super-grade Model 70. The latter has more heart though and is more fun to hold or look at.
