It seems like you want a rifle to play with and to shoot a coon or coyote now and then. A 22 rimfire can be shot for about 4 cents a pop. A centerfire 22 will cost about 60 cents a pop so, you aren't likely to do much tin can destruction with it. I have a 10-22 Ruger that has had many thousands of rounds through it in the last 30 years and is still going strong. Most rifles are capable of better accuracy than the person pulling the trigger is. Buy the type rifle that makes you happy, you are the one using it. Joe
