Some different styles of throw-out bearings were open on one end, covered with a sort of tin shield,with a gap at it's I.D. large enough to spray things into. if that's not your situation, spray the whole bearing down with WD-40 or the like, maybe some of it will leak in through the seal and loosen up the old grease. If it's making noise, the end is near, and you really need to consider changing it.
