Yesterdays Tractors directs your attention to the top of the Transmission Case and to the rear of the Shift Lever.Also they say that the U in all it"s configurations were Mfg. from 1929 to 1944.Serial numbers can be found at the research and info section on this page to the left along the edge.I had an old UC which I used on belt work and PTO on the fox hay and silage blower. It was a crank start and I never did know it"s age ,it was powerful for what I used it for.After I got the D17 I sold the old thing to a collector for $350.00.This was in 1969.
