Around here, (TN) we have the castle doctrine too, and if your door is unlocked, your "castle" extends to your porch as well. We also have a law that says you can threaten deadly force to protect property, but cannot actually use it. Doesn't make a whole lotta sense to me, but then again, neither do most of the politicians.
