We live on a very quiet country road (gravel). We also have extensive market gardens. The road in front of our farm is bordered by a large woodlot to the south and therefore gets covered quite heavily with leaves. I go out and use a blower to windrow them to one side and then the kids and I pick them up with the tractor pulling a small single axle trailer. Where we are going to grow irish potatoes the next year, I just till them straight into the soil. We use 3 cattle panels to make a round pen to store the rest for the winter. Then we use them as needed for whatever through the year. I would love to bale them, but quite frequently there are rocks mixed into the bottom of the windrow and you can feel gritty dirt from the road throughout.
