A 100 horse won't push slush up the shute. When I used mine in the north country, it did a fine job blowing cold dry powder all over, including down my neck. I don't have that problem now. The snow down here is 'different' heavy wet and never had the powdery stuff deep enough to use it. It ends up being a heavy churning push blade. A wide loader bucket and scraper do a much better job. Think about the kind of white stuff you get, and ask other people around who own one. If no one owns one... you now know why....
