John, I guess that it depends upon how much space that you have available. Both of my Cummins Dodge pickups have two parallel group twenty-seven 12 volt jars. Comes in handy in the winter, thats for sure. When I was in the Army, all of our twenty-four volt 2.5 and 5 ton trucks used four huge 12 volt jars in sets of two that were wired in series to achieve 24 volts, and the pairs were wired parallel to each other, so basically formed two 24 batteries, and they sure came in handy in the cold winters. That, and ether. My Deeres and my Massey each use two 12 volt jars parallel. I have a real small Allis that uses one 6 volt jar and one day I'm going to convert it to 12 volt and will probably use two jars parallel. I guess the most important thing is the size of the individual cells of the jars that form the batteries when all is said and done.
