No, it's the ramp and rollers. Not the clutch.
There is only one clutch in the TA of a 450, and it is only engaged when the tractor is in direct drive.
If direct drive is okay, the clutch is okay. Slipping when the TA lever is back means the ramp and roller assembly in the TA has worn out.
You've got two choices:
1. Don't use the TA. It'll run forever like this.
2. Fix it.
Decide to fix it and you have several choices there to... You can replace the whole TA unit, which gets you new bearings and bushings and whatnot along with ramp and rollers. You can just replace the actual bad parts for a lot less money (but a bit more work), but then you run the risk of another part of the TA wearing out on you.
