As if anyone really needed MORE reasons to quit smoking, my wife is still in intensive care, and nearly died earlier this week from high levels of benzene, the highly addictive substance that cigarette makers ADD to tobacco products to make them more addictive. (In addition to the levels already in tobacco smoke) Her heart rate has been over 200 beats per minute at times for 4 days, and Drs cannot get it regulated. She's smoked for 30+ years.
And as soon as my wife is home from the hospital, I'm headed north to visit an old friend who recently had a lung removed after he developed pulmanary fibrosis from smoking 2 packs a day since he was a teen.
Smoking = pulling the trigger of a loaded gun pressed to your temple......just a little bit slower.
